Slime Out Fish Bait and Boosts Tier List
Multi-catch bait, luck potions, totems, strength, and Starlight priorities.
Consumables and bait decide whether your Slime Out Fish gear actually spikes during weather or just looks expensive on Sunny afternoons. This list ranks multi-catch bait, Luck Potion II, Lucky Totem style boosts, strength potions, and how Starlight from Thunder Siam should be treated. Always read it beside Weather Events and the rods tier list.
Ranking criteria
- Return when stacked with Aurora, Thunder, Meteor, or Rainy
- Risk of creating a knife backlog
- Cash opportunity cost versus buying Kitchen/Chef sharpness or the next rod
- Synergy with documented depth/luck/strength rod stats
S tier — timed luck on elite skies
Luck Potion II and Lucky Totem (and similar luck totems) are S-tier when popped on Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor. Aurora already doubles mutated spawns and offers weather fish; Thunder adds 1.5× luck plus five weather fish; Meteor adds 2× luck, 2× mutated, and two premium weather fish (~1715 Starlight each at Thunder Siam). Layering luck consumables on those skies multiplies an already-hot table.
Same items drop to C or D if you panic-pop them on Sunny. The tier is about timing, not the icon art.
A tier — multi-catch bait with a ready knife
Bait that adds multi-catch capacity (about $30+) is A-tier once your knife holds perfect scrapes on current fish. Extra fish per cast is free Cash during Rainy and mandatory coverage during short Meteor timers. It is a trap while you are still on a dull starter blade—see Perfect Scaling and knives tier list.
Buy bait after Kitchen Knife and Toy Rod are online, ideally as you enter Bamboo/Carbon Fiber play. Re-buy or refresh capacity ahead of known weather, not after the sky already flipped.
B tier — strength potions with the right rod
Strength potions help when rod strength is the gate for fish you care about. They are B-tier: valuable in targeted sessions, wasteful if your rod is still Beginner/Toy and the real problem is luck or depth. Pair strength pots with mid rods that already show strength in the shop, then test on Sunny before spending them inside Meteor.
C tier — light luck on Rainy-only plans
Using minor luck boosts during Rainy (1.2× luck) is acceptable C-tier play when you lack elite skies tonight but still want a gentle edge. Prefer holding top Luck Potion II charges for Thunder/Meteor if a rotation is due soon. Night without a luck multiplier is better spent on index work than on burning S-tier potions.
D tier — Sunny burns and premature bait
Dumping totems on Sunny, or buying bait while incomplete scrapes dominate, is D-tier decision-making. You convert rare items into mediocre commons processing. Shop upgrades or clear backlog instead.
Starlight uses
Starlight comes from turning weather fish into Thunder Siam at map center. Meteor weather fish are the headline (~1715 Starlight each); Thunder’s five fish and Aurora’s weather fish still matter. Starlight supports longer-term progression layers beyond raw duck Cash—treat it as a second currency you earn during the same casts that fund rods and knives.
Practical Starlight habits:
- Never leave weather fish swimming to “finish one more common.”
- Path to Thunder Siam with inventory ready; learn the center route on Sunny.
- After turn-in, resume duck feeds so Cash does not stall.
- Do not skip knife upgrades just because Starlight numbers look big—blades still gate Cash.
Codes sometimes grant Starlight or totems directly—redeem via codes before you invent a shortage.
Session loadout examples
Meteor prep — Best balanced rod, sharpest affordable knife, bait filled, Luck Potion II + Lucky Totem ready, hotbar clear. Cast → weather fish → Thunder Siam → scale → ducks. Checklist: upgrade checklist.
Rainy grind — Bait on, optional light luck, focus Cash and index. Save elite totems.
Sunny maintenance — No S luck burns. Buy knife/rod/bait per How to Earn Cash, redeem codes, clear scrapes.
Aurora mutation push — Luck on, bait on, watch mutated targets and weather fish, keep perfect scrape discipline.
Common boost mistakes
- Popping Lucky Totem then AFKing through half of Thunder.
- Buying bait packs that overflow a dull knife.
- Ignoring strength potions forever even when rod strength is clearly gating.
- Treating Starlight as cosmetics-only and skipping Thunder Siam.
- Spending potion rewards from the like chest on Sunny tutorial casts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Slime Out Fish questions.
When should I buy bait in Slime Out Fish?
After your knife can perfect-scrape current catches—often post Kitchen Knife and Toy Rod, around the $30+ bait range—so multi-catch capacity does not create a backlog.
When do I use Luck Potion II or Lucky Totem?
Prefer Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor. Those weathers already boost luck or mutated spawns and can include weather fish for Starlight.
What is Starlight for?
Starlight is earned by turning weather fish in to Thunder Siam at map center. It supports longer-term progression alongside Cash from feeding ducks.
Are strength potions mandatory?
No, but they are useful when rod strength gates the fish you want. Pair them with a mid rod that already lists competitive strength.
Should I use luck potions on Sunny?
Generally no. Sunny has no luck bonus—save potions and totems for stronger skies unless you are finishing a tiny, time-sensitive goal.
